Docker and Kubernetes!

I have started to do research into Docker, Kubernetes, and resource orchestration. Docker allows you to convert applications, databases, administration tools, and more, into containers. These containers run under Docker and allows you to deploy these resources quickly and efficiently. They use much less compute resources compared to VMs due to the lack of an OS per container. To deploy them en masse and to allow these containers to flex due to demand, Kubernetes can be used.

Although Docker and docker compose can allow you to set an order to deploy containers, Kubernetes is the primary tool that is used to deploy sets of these containers. As a container orchestrator, Kubernetes allows for groups of containers (clusters) to be deployed and managed automatically. For example, a web server may go down which would require troubleshooting or restarting a physical server or virtual machine. If the web server is containerized with Docker and orchestrated with Kubernetes, once it goes down, Kubernetes will automatically configure the server on a different machine or cloud to get the service back online.
